Applications

When a drone is lost or worn out in an operation, the production cell on site builds a replacement. With kits in stock, the Tactical Case delivers one drone every 20 minutes.

What the drones are built for.

In each of these fields, drones are lost or wear out during operations.

  • Reconnaissance and overwatch

A watch can run over several days.

  • Search and rescue

Drones are lost in rough terrain and over water.

  • Border protection

Teams work on remote border sections, where resupply is slow.

  • Critical-infrastructure protection

Protecting a site is continuous work.

  • Disaster response and civil protection

In a flood or a forest fire, drones are lost over days of operation.

  • Training and exercise

Drones wear out and crash in training.

Who the production cells are built for.

Each of these groups has its own reason to build drones where it operates.

Training units
A course needs the same number of drones from its first day to its last. With a cell and kits of its own, a training unit can keep that number up.
Civil protection in large-scale incidents
Nobody knows in advance how long an incident will last or how many drones it will use. A cell with kits in stock can be brought to the incident and build drones as they are needed.
Infrastructure operators
Their sites are fixed. A cell and kits stored on site give them their own source of drones.
Public-safety agencies
Police, fire and rescue services fly drones for the view from above that incident command needs, and they need them at short notice. With a cell of their own, new drones do not wait for a supplier’s delivery.
Defence procurement teams
They plan for drones being used up in operations. A production cell with kits in stock adds production capacity close to where the drones fly.

A central factory ships every drone. A Tactical Case builds them on site.

Production spread over several sites also keeps going when one site is down. Each cell builds from the kits it holds, so an outage at one site leaves the others working. How the production cells work

Questions about applications.

Why produce on site instead of ordering?
Delivery times for ordered drones depend on the order and the supply chain. With a production cell and kits on site, lost or worn drones can be replaced where the operation runs.
Does a production cell make sense for a small team?
That depends on how many drones the team flies and loses. A small team that rarely loses a drone is often well served by a few spares. A cell makes sense when drones are lost or worn out often, or when resupply to the site is slow. We work this out with you in a briefing.
What does a cell need to keep building drones?
It needs kits and print material. The stock held on site sets how many drones the cell can build before it needs resupply. The integrated flight-controller and ESC board in STURM 01 is our own design and is manufactured in Europe. Most other components come from European suppliers.
How do I find out whether STURM 01 fits my field?

Performance data is provided under NDA. We go through your field and the data in a technical briefing.
